New FWF Project: AURA

I am very happy to announce that together with Astrid Weiss I have received funding from the Austrian Science Fund (FWF) for the AURA project.

AURA sets out to rethink how we assess technology acceptance. Current models like TAM are static and rely on self-reports, which means they fail to capture how acceptance actually evolves as people live with AI systems over time. The project will explore new theoretical and empirical approaches to understanding acceptance as a dynamic phenomenon, combining physiological and behavioural sensing with the goal of capturing acceptance continuously and non-intrusively. We also want to translate these insights into practical tools that designers can use throughout the development process, not just after the fact.

I have added a scales page to this site with information on the scales and questionnaires I have been involved in developing. You will find the items and scoring instructions for the PCTS, TSRI, R2T2, and MRC. I hope this makes it easier to use these instruments in your research!

I moved to Vienna!

I am happy to report that as of April 1, 2024, I work as a Professor and Head of Research Area at TU Wien. I am honoured and humbled for new adventures together with the HCI Group. These are exiting times as I get to grow my group and establish new labs dedicated to HCI research.
