Hi! I’m Paweł. My full name has multiple letters that are likely to mess with your system. You can copy it here: Paweł W. Woźniak
If you’re interested in pronouncing my name, here is a sample. In case my name is displaying strangely in your browser, I have a bitmap version of it.
Most of the time, I am busy being Professor for Human-Computer Interaction at Faculty of Informatics, TU Wien. This means that I talk a lot for a living.
Earlier, I was an Associate Professor at Chalmers Univeristy of Technology. Even earlier, I was an Assistant Professor at Utrecht University, Department of Information and Computing Sciences. Years ago, I was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Stuttgart. I got my PhD in Human-Computer Interaction at Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg.
I’ve been in love with HCI for a while now and I do enjoy all aspects of it from the very techy details to discussing the field’s overall impact. At the time of writing, I’m particularly interested in HCI for sports, designing technology for wellbeing and how interactive technologies can support reproducible science. I believe that HCI really has the potential to be a good thing in the world. What I like most is using a blend of methodologies and approaches for solving strange HCI problems.
I also enjoy introducing people to design thinking and convincing engineers that design is important. If you’re looking for someone to talk to about running shoes, I am your guy.
If you’d like to contact me, I have an official work webpage.
